I hope the bands don't (sound?) like 4:33. I would ask for a refund.

I think it's a composition where you don't play anything. The silence is the composition.

holy fuck that is so arty
yet so beautiful at the same time...

i mean, we need to take the time out, especially in live music situations, to just enjoy the majestic silence...

The worse thing for John Cage is, where can you go from there? Make some kind of machine that sucks the atmospheric noise out of the room?

Man you'd be so gutted if you got to 3 and a half minutes and sneezed.

Ive seen 4'33"performed live.
this guy sat at grand piano in formal evening dress with a stopwatch that he set to the required time.

at the end he stood up and bowed, and we all clapped like total morons.

4'33" is one cage's less weird pieces

wont get fooled again

It's not so much the silence but the lack of 'music' and the noises that you realise happen during performances. So it'd be fine if you sneezed cos that's part of what you should be hearing. If I'm making sense.?

My favourite version is 4'33" tranposed to G minor in 5/4 time.

Give me more of that beat.

That'd suck way more than the original. I'm not sure how, maybe Timbaland will steal someone else's silence or something, but it will.

Strange - if mp3 compression worked well I would have thought it would have been like a 10kb song or something...
