![]() Seriously, if you're not even going to bother to act like a real newspaper and proofread your polytech dropouts' quasi-literate drivel, why should I bother to hit your page? I might as well go on twitter - same news, same standard of English, more timely.

This is pretty much the standard for tvnz/stuff/tv3 etc. On par with the people who comment on their articles.

I personally only read the Herald and watch Fox so don't have this problem. Good quality journalists who know how to use an apostrophe and don't fall for the Commie lies that other weaker outlets do.

If you're going to act all high and mighty, at least bother to highlight all the mistakes. There are at least two more in that sentence. It all depends what time of the day you hit certain sites, and who's on. Every site cuts corners on staff at different times, and it shows. Try reading nzherald.co.nz on a Sunday afternoon - unless something completely outrageous happens, there's literally no new content, at all.

There are indeed a further two mistakes, of which one is fixed in the "corrected" version.

![]() This is not the same issue, but it's no less egregious, in my opinion.

Quote And a comma really was needed too. To be fair, the time pressures we're under can lead to this kind of thing - it's usually the combination of newbie or part-timer, breaking news, lack of an experienced person on hand to check it before it goes live - but it shouldn't really happen on a story about a stupid band. When you've been doing this job over two years, you get laser eyes for this kind of shit.

Interestingly enough this is what I'm reading of late:![]() Its actually quite funny. And groan worthy. (There are people who use commas instead of apostrophes, and even then use them in the wrong place? Argh.)

Oops. Knew I would do something like that if I started to be a Punctuation-Nazi. I am going to blame the keyboard on this one. I almost posted "thisi s wat Im", or something to that effect. Maybe my typing is off. One Finger Bandit and all that. I can't spell for shit and my general Grammar is unlikely to be much good eitherer. I dislike The Queen's English, and English as a language in general. Why I have these little issues with the miss/non use of stupid little squiggles and stuff I don't know. Mar fhocal scoir, is féidir leat a fháil ar fad ar fad líonta. Tá mé ag dul a fhoghlaim Gaeilge a labhairt. Mona cultúr agus domhandú a damanta.

Well yeah. If anyone wants to be a punctuation and grammar Nazi, all power to them, just better to do it on a site that doesn't have news editors as members

http://www.stuff.co.nz/oddstuff/4045606/Ok-to-advertise-No-God So now they cover a controversy about a religion being mocked by mocking a religion. Atheism is "odd" apparently. Which news site is the tory one again?

Once again I have to step in to explain... The story is marked as coming from the NZPA wire, which means pretty much every news site in NZ probably carried it - not just the 'Tory' ones. Secondly, one religious group getting angry because another mocked them via a billboard is pretty funny, and does belong in the odd news section. Pretty much all religious spats that don't involve people getting killed do.
